Treasure Island at the Mirage

The hotel fronts the Strip with a replica of an 18th-century sea village, surrounded by rock cliffs, shrubs, palm trees, and nautical artifacts, all perched atop Buccaneer Bay, a blue-water lagoon.

Two fully rigged ships, a pirate galleon, and a British frigate, moored and anchored in the bay play out for a mock sea battle every 90 minutes beginning in the late afternoon. The sidewalk fills with onlookers who marvel at the cannons blazing, masts toppling, powder kegs exploding, and ships sinking.

Buccaneer Bay Sea Battle
Amidst the choreographed chaos between pirate ship and British frigate, skilled performers engage in hand to hand combat, swing from ship's rigging, and take spectacular high falls to the water below — essentially recreating a grand-scale Hollywood action scene before your very eyes.

Staged every 90 minutes in the evening, the free face-off fills the desert sky with musket fire and cannon blasts before sinking the defeated ship into the murky Treasure Island depths.

Cirque du Soleil’s Mystere
The hotel's ongoing production show, Cirque du Soleil's Mystere, is staged in a specially built, 1,500-seat theater that is typically sold out. Featuring an international cast of 72 singers, dancers, musicians, and acrobats, “Mystère” is a simply a must-see. Performed five nights a week, this virtual kaleidoscope of sight and sound rises above pure spectacle to showcase the power and grace of the human form while an intriguing storyline unravels.

The hotel's Caribbean theme continues in the casino with 18th-century base-relief art on the ceilings and carved wooden columns and railings. Slot machines and gaming tables are tightly grouped in the casino, but players don't seem to mind the close quarters.
