Las Vegas is famous around the world for hosting a variety of wedding ceremonies from small and intimate settings at local chapels to extravagant, formal nuptials at upscale Las Vegas resorts. Last year alone, 123,000 couples applied for wedding licenses.
There are a variety of churches of all denominations throughout the Las Vegas valley that can help you create beautiful memories for that special day. No matter what type of wedding ceremony you are planning, Las Vegas can accommodate it!
Choosing the place
The place you choose for your ceremony can be as unique as the two of you. While Las Vegas is best known for its chapels, you can also select a church, a temple, a hall, hotel, restaurant, your home, or judge's chambers. The ceremony site should have some special significance, and it should comfortably accommodate the number of guests you invite.
If you plan to have a member of the clergy marry you, be sure to contact him/her early to discuss how your wishes can be combined with ceremonial rites.
Be sure to ask about the facility's policies. Find out if there are any restrictions on decorations, music, photography, or ideography, and let your vendors know.
Be sure to check the Las Vegas Yellow Pages and find out what's available.
The Viva Las Vegas Chapel – The Elvis Themed Wedding
Many brides and grooms consider Las Vegas to be the “Wedding Capital of the World,” and most will agree that Elvis is The King! Many couples come here looking for something with a splash of fun, and there are services and chapels that have expanded to meet the demand for the phenomenally popular Elvis themed weddings.
To make your day both memorable and unique, the Viva Las Vegas Chapel lets you choose from a variety of Elvis wedding packages, each starring The King himself. Elvis will perform your ceremony and sing a selection of his greatest hits. You can even substitute a Priscilla impersonator to appear as your Matron of Honor.
The Drive Through Wedding
If you and your fiancé are in too much of a rush to get out of the car to get married, in Las Vegas, you don’t have to. Las Vegas is one of the only places in the world where you can get married while remaining in your car. For only $40, the Little White Chapel will perform a drive through ceremony. The mood is set with a mosaic of angels to make this not your typical drive-through.
Legal Requirements
Couples that reside outside the U.S. will need to provide some proof of their birthdate, such as a passport or other country-issued I.D., in order to obtain a marriage license in Las Vegas. There is no other special documentation that will need to be provided. Those couples will need to contact officials in their country of origin to find out how to register their marriage at home.
Blood tests are not required to get married in Las Vegas, and there is no waiting period.
Honeymoon in Vegas
If you're looking for a honeymoon spot that offers great value, great fun and great variety,
consider Las Vegas - even if you don't gamble. The Strip (Las Vegas Boulevard) is a crowded,
happy, raucous, and safe place. Volcanoes explode before your eyes outside the Mirage Hotel,
and pirates engage in a high-flying battle at its neighbor Treasure Island every half hour.
In addition, there's the fun of people watching and many other free attractions nearby.
