Flamingo Las Vegas

The Flamingo sits in the heart of the Strip, at Las Vegas Boulevard and Flamingo Road. Many people consider the original Flamingo Hotel, built in 1946 by Benjamin "Bugsy" Siegel, as the predecessor to modern commercial gambling in Las Vegas. Siegel's original suite and garden wing was plowed under to make room for expansion in the mid-1990s. All that remains in tribute to the Chicago mobster is a small plaque in the rose garden behind the casino, Bugsy’s Deli, and Bugsy's Celebrity Theater named in his honor.

The pool area is a water wonderland, with lagoons, waterfalls, lush foliage, and five pools. Check out the 15-acre wildlife habitat with its macaws, Chilean flamingos, swans, cockatoos, water turtles, and African penguins.

Gladys Knight
The legendary Gladys Knight headlines the Flamingo in the cozy Flamingo Showroom. Backed by an airtight seven-piece band, Knight's smooth stylings guide her audience on an auditory tour of one of the most amazing careers in popular music. Performing from a catalog of hits that span 40 years, from 1960s R&B, through '70s Motown, and all the way to today, Knight showcases a talent clearly deserving of her many accolades.

Flamingo Pool
The Flamingo is a pool favorite: a tropical paradise with water slides, waterfalls, lush tropical plants and trees, and colorful flowers, all set in a 15-acre garden with four pools and two huge whirlpools. There's a separate baby pool and kids can scamper in search of real flamingos and Chilean penguins. Catch some rays, splash down a cascading water slide or relax with a cool drink by one of the pools.

Gambling at the Flamingo
Because nothing says Las Vegas quite like hot dice and neon, Flamingo Las Vegas' newly renovated Caribbean-style casino is bursting with games and alive with color. Set foot inside the Strip's vibrant staple, and it's easy to be overwhelmed. Along with 2,000 electronic slot and video poker machines, the 77,000-sq. ft. floor is filled with such table favorites as blackjack, craps, Caribbean Stud, and Let It Ride. Whether you're looking for the city's latest trend or hoping to spend some time with a casino classic, the Flamingo's got it all.
